Aunts For The Weekend

Will's sisters, Becky and Christine, came to visit overnight to help out. Help they did! We got tons done while they were here so that I won't feel behind when Will returns to work on Monday.

They not only helped with some chores, but also helped to entertain Reese by taking her to the aquarium.

They were using our camera, which takes horrible pictures, so this is the only one from the aquarium- it's Reese in the canoe at the swamp/marshes exhibits

Father Of Two

Will and I have been getting used to the idea that we no longer have just a daughter, but "kids"- plural. When we stop to think about it it feels strange on an intellectual level. On every other level, though, we think it's just plain neat.

Reese and Baby

As mentioned before, Reese loves babies. She loves her new baby brother, and the new doll that she got around the same time he was born. The doll is roughly the same size and color as Liam, so we've had a couple of split-second scares and shocks until we realize that the baby being carried by the arm or laying face-down at the top of the stairs isn't real. Phew!

She also loves to give hugs and kisses to her little brother

Liam And Fam

At the hospital:

Liam's Aunt Megan

Grandpa Faber

Grandma Faber

Dad
(This is what my OB found when he came in to check on me. I was in the restroom at the time. Perfect timing.)
If this doesn't make me look like the most caring and responsible mom in the world, I don't know what would. Someone tell me to prop his head up!
Back at home:

Grandma Great

Big sister, Reese. Not only does she understand that Liam is here to stay, but she's happy about it!

New Baby Liam!

Will thought he was going to get a good nights sleep Tuesday night, but boy was he wrong, unless you count an hour of sleep good. Anna gasped at about 5 minutes to midnight and said, "I think my water broke." And her water had indeed broken. So the proud parents went to the hospital with no sleep for 9 hours of labor.
Anna was a champ and didn't get an epidural with this baby. That isn't to say she didn't want one (at one point). To help move the delivery along they gave Anna some pitocin since she wasn't progressing very fast. After about an hour and a half she started having the worst contractions and screamed for help. The nurse went to get the anesthesiologist so she could get an epidural and he was going into surgery and wouldn't be available for an hour and a half. So the nurses gave Anna something else for the pain and Liam decided he wanted to show his head. That scared one nurse pretty bad. She left the room to call the doctor and sent in a replacement. The new nurse, Chris, got Anna a little more ready to deliver and held in Liam until the doctor got in the room to watch him be delivered by the nurse. He is a good eater, sleeper, and wiggler. He is 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches born on July 14th, 2010 at 8:47am.
Anna in the hospital before she got hooked up to all the stuff. Another lady decided to wait until she was dilated to a 10 before coming to the hospital so it took a little bit to get Anna all squared away.

Reese In July

No new little baby yet, but Reese is okay with that, since she's oblivious to the fact that she has a little brother coming at all. So far July has been more of just living life as usual.

We attended the wedding reception of a friend last week. We brought Reese to show her off to friends we hadn't seen in a while, but she had a great time trying to take apart the green house/garden nursery where the reception was held. All those fountains and rocks and plants- so much to explore.

Grandpa great was pretty excited the other day when Reese grabbed a pillow and blanket and then climbed right onto his lap without any prompting. She usually runs away when he simply asks for a hug. Her initiating the lap-sitting is kind of a big deal.

3rd of July (since the 4th was on a Sunday) was celebrated up Provo Canyon with Heath family. Reese and her cousin Katie (five months Reese's senior) actually acted like friends for the first time. Very hopeful. And very cute.

Family Reunion

We've had a Lauritzen (Will's mom's family) reunion and a Dan Faber family reunion, but I only got pictures from the latter, which was a week long.
