Mobile

Reese really liked her mobile when she was little. When she got tall enough to pull the animals off, we stopped using it. Now it's Liam's turn.

The crib turned into a toddler bed when Reese got big enough. We recently got another toddler bed and turned hers back into the crib. (Although Liam isn't sleeping in it yet, he will when he can sleep through the night until at least 7:30.) Yesterday I put Reese down for a nap in her new toddler bed. When I went to get her at the end of nap time, I found her in the crib. I don't know what to make of that.

Aspiring Photographer

As many of you know, I hate our camera. It takes horrible pictures. I have an awesome sister to sent me her old camera when she got a new one. Today I let Reese use our aweful one, and she can coax better pictures out of it than I can.
So, without further ado, a sampling from the collection, "Perspectives of a Two Year Old:"

(I love that she caught her shoes in this one)

Healthy

We have now gone almost two full weeks without vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, rashes, fevers, cold chills, infections, runny noses or abnormal pains! Liam can go eight hours at night between meals. We've been going on walks in the beautiful weather. Things are pretty fabulous.

Reese found the drawer with headbands and wanted to wear them all. She knows they go on your head, I don't know why she insists on wearing them as belts.
And head gear.

I just had to put a picture up of her clothed.

And my little boy smiles. I love it.

Getting Better

Last week I was sick so my grandparents came and picked up me, Reese and Liam and took us to my mom's to spend a couple of days. It was a life saver. This week we're back home and back on track.

Liam has become more grumpy lately- more fussy time and less happy time. I'm hoping it's just a phase. He's still as cute as ever, though.

Up until now Reese and Liam have pretty much lived in two different worlds, but Reese has recently started including her little brother in play- like here where she's sharing her coputer.
And Daddy trying to cheer him up.

We got this Toys R Us catalog in the mail. Reese picks is up and stares at it page after page like a teen reading a tabloid. (PS: toys are expensive.)

When Reese woke up from her nap today, she immediately wanted to read books. The third one she picked out was "The Berenstain Bears' Trouble at School" but we didn't finish it because when she saw this:
We ended up doing this:
For quite a while. She'll get the hang of it someday.

Two Months

Today Liam is two months old. Here are some things about him:

Laugh sounds like a cough . sleeps 6 hours at night . outgrown the smallest buckle setting on his car seat . doesn't cry often . 3 hours between meals on average . loves cuddles . often grabs on to Mama's shirt . smiles big . usually sleeps when traveling . lots of happy wake-time . kicks off his socks . doesn't like the bath . has a heart-breaking pouty face . would rather lift head up than rest in on your shoulder . bobble head . prefers a position that allows him to see around the room . Growing fast .

Just Because

Here are some pictures of Liam.

Liam began smiling recently. One time during the past week or so I was playing with him to make him smile when he had a coughing fit- actually it was him trying to laugh. After I realized he wasn't choking or something, it was pretty cute.

Grandma Comes To Visit

Grandma Faber came to visit for a whole week to help Anna after moving back to school, since she was unable to come for any extended stay right after Liam was born. We loved having her here! Reese wanted to hang out with Grandma all day and preferred her help over Mama and Daddy's.

Though Grandma left on Saturday, Reese was still hoping it was temporary and thought maybe she had returned while we were at church today. She asked on the way home if we were going home to see Grandma.
Grandma helped a ton, but the only pictures I got were of her helping Reese color.

Grandma treated us to some ice cream- and is purposely leaning back so I wouldn't capture her in this photo. Grr.

Sick

This past week we've been sick. Poor Reese got the worst of it- lots of vomiting and fire-bum, blister-causing diarrhea. Will and I got the second worst of it- treating and cleaning up after vomiting and fire-bum, blister-causing diarrhea. And we both got queasy stomachs and the aches.

Thank goodness Liam didn't seem to be affected. And this is the best smile I could get for the camera. He smiles on occasion now.

Reese, pictured here in her "ribbit jam-jams", which were washed at least five times within the two worst days of her sickness, listening to Daddy's ipod in a rare feel-good moment.

And dancing, too
